FAQs
Are estimates free?
Yes, local estimates for roof installation and repair are free. A nominal fee may be charged for long-distance travel.
When is payment due for the project?
For most residential reroofs, we ask for payment upon completion. For large projects we ask for half on delivery of materials, with the remainder due upon completion. We also work with escrow, insurance, family trusts, purchase orders, etc.
Which methods of payment are acceptable?
Cash or check please. Checks should be made payable to “Common Sense Roofing Inc”.
Can I get a warranty on my roof?
We offer a three year workmanship warranty. The shingles used come with a manufacturer’s warranty. Extended warranties may be purchased, but specifics will be discussed prior to installation.
Do you install metal roofing?
No, not at this time.
Can I custom order the materials (brand, color, etc.) for my roof?
Yes, we do offer customization; however, we will often recommend more economical products that have comparable long-term quality. If you do have a strong preference, please let us know as we’re gathering information for your estimate.
I have a roofing emergency. Can you help?
Yes, feel free to contact us for your roofing emergency and we’ll expedite having someone check it out. If possible, we’ll assist you with resolving it immediately. If major repairs are needed or materials are not available, the repairs may need to be scheduled.
Do you ever turn down, delay or reprioritize work?
Our goal is provide realistic expectations for you upfront, and if unforeseen things happen, we try to effectively communicate with you about any necessary changes.
Sometimes emergencies occur or large projects that were delayed suddenly require the majority of our attention. Lately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there have been significant delays outside of our control, such as materials being on backorder. This has required shuffling around projects based on what is available in a given week. It is frustrating to us too, so we appreciate your patience.
If you are a new client and we don’t think we can get to your project in a timely manner, we may suggest delaying the project until a later date when we can give you the full attention you deserve.
If we’ve already given you a project timeline and we need to reschedule the work for whatever reason, we will reach out to you promptly and update the timeline.
You are always welcome to call or email us if you have questions or concerns about an upcoming project and its timeline.
